Küstendorf International Film and Music Festival will take place for the eighth time starting today until January 26th when the Golden Egg will be awarded to one of 17 films by young directors from around the world. The festival is organized at Drvengrad, a village on the mountains of Western Serbia built entirely in wood about ten years ago as the set for the film 'Life is a Miracle'.Nikita Mikhalkov, Andrei Konchalovsky, Bertrand Tavernier, and Alfonso Cuaron, among others, will be the guests of this year's edition of the festival, while the jury consists of Amanda Nevill from British Film Institute, the Mexican-American producer Alex Garcia and the French producer Claudie Ossard.
The festival, which was recently listed as one of the 25 coolest festivals in the world by Moviemaker Magazine, is organized by the renowned Serbian filmmaker, Emir Kusturica with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, The Town of Mećavnik and TNSO.
