Two festivals from Serbia, Exit and Lovefest are on the shortlist for the Best Overseas Festival award at the UK Festival Awards, together with some of the Europe’s most prestigious festivals such as Tomorrowland, Sziget, Roskilde etc. The award ceremony will be held on 2nd December at The Roundhouse in London. The UK Festival Awards are awarded annually, with various categories for all aspects of festivals that have taken place in the UK, and one category for European festivals. The Awards were first established in 2004, and are produced by Virtual Festivals.com. They are voted for by the public via the UK Festival Awards website: http://ukvoting.festivalawards.com/. To ensure fairness, the votes are weighted to take into account the event capacity. Exit already won the award for the best festival outside the UK back in 2007.
In addition to that, Exit Festival is also among contenders for the Best Major Festival at the continental cousin of the UKFA which takes place on the opening night of Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, Holland, on Weds 15th January 2014.
