The once difficult and dangerous job of using mountain rivers to transport timber from inaccessible forests has over time become a tourist attraction. Going down mountain river rapids in rubber rafts is a real challenge for the modern tourist who seeks after excitement and adventure. In Serbia, rafting is available on the Drina, Uvac, Lima and Ibar rivers, as well as some lesser known mountain waters.
Log rafting involves going down a river on logs tied together into a raft. White water rafting involes going down a mountain river rapid in a special rubber raft. Each raft passenger has a life vest, special clothes and a paddle. The rafts are guided by skippers – rafters with extensive knowledge of the river.
